FEP BINUSIAN 2019
Hi Binusian!
I am new student at Binus University. My name is Tiffany and I chose MTI as my course.
First thing to do before start the semester is FEP. I was in the last batch of FEP, which was FBN. It was only held for 2 days, Friday and Saturday (18th and 19th of September 2015). One of sessions in FEP was General Orientation (GO). So, in that session, all the seniors (bc) explained to us, new students about the rules, the environment around Binus, etc.
First day in, I was a bit nervous even though this is not my first time attend university. So, in that first day, the seniors told us about the rules in Binus. And, we also have our Vice Rector, Mr. Andreas Chang, to presented about history of Binus, awards that Binus has achieved. He inspired us to become the best from the best to achieve our aim.
Then, we were separated according to our own religion to joined each religions organisation. Mine was KMBD, it was fun even though just for a short time. And I did register for it as well. And, we also got some small souvenirs from them. After that, we had quick lunch. Then, we were separated again into classes for Binus Maya session. So, in that session, the seniors taught us how to use Binus Maya as it is very important for us as Binus’ students. They explained to us how to check our classes schedule, exams, about finance, and all the services that are provided in Binus Maya.
Then, we went into a room for a presentation about all student organisations. There are so many choices that I was confused which one should I chose. I felt like I wanted to choose everything if I could but that is definitely impossible. Later on, they have expo from some of the organisations, so that, we could asked for more information about the organisation itself. That was the end of the first day. It was a fun day and I also made some friends there which is good.
Second day was a bit shorter. We were told to got into classes which have been decided on the first day. So, first session of the day was Binus journey where the seniors explained more detail about Binus and what’s inside. In the middle, we did play some games where we had to known the students’ name in the class and wrote down their name according to the categories. On that second day, we also got our own almamater jacket as Binus’ students. The jacket is so cool.
After that, we were asked to memorized Binus and Binusian Mars. And, we also had to made our own class yel-yel which we would performed later on when all the new students gathered together. So, we practiced and practiced and kept practicing until time finished. We gathered outside the main entrance by own classes. The MCs, who were two of our BCs chose one class at one time. But before that. we sang Binus and Binusian Mars first, then we played a short funny game.
First group was amazing. Second group was a bit awkward, as well as the third group. My class was the last group. We were so messy and not even one person noticed when we finished it. But then, two of students from our class performed singing in front of everyone which I thought was so awesome. Later on, actually the BCs had also prepared their own yel-yel and performed in front of us. They were so cool and funny. Last, we closed our event with pray and took some pictures. Overall, it was a nice and interesting start for my university life.
Except General Orientation, they actually had other sessions as well, such as AO, HTTP, and Conventional meeting. But, unfortunately for me, I missed those sessions as I was outside the city. Not only missed such an important events, I also lost my SAT points which are very important, and also I missed all the information about the courses that I might got from those events.
That’s all I could say about FEP. Enjoy…
